about
Father/Daughter collaboration about a man looking down from his apartment window at a homeless man, wondering if he should help him. Will it be too late?
Folk/Country fusion
lyrics
There's a man on the pavement near a clock in a window
with the hands that turn so slowly as people walk by him.
But no one wants to know him or find out where he came from
or if he has a family or even a home.
And as I look down from my seventh story window, I think I should go down there and say how are you, is like life treating you fairly, can I be of assistance, but do I really care?
There's paintings on the sidewalk of an elephant in a circus, and a pelican flying freely in the sky.
There's a small boy with a beachball looking out at an ocean, and a vacant frame with nothing in it, oh I wonder why.
And as I look down from my apartment window I think I should go down there and say how are you, is life treating you fairly, can I be of assistance, but do I really care?
Doesn't seem to have a future, tomorrow's just an extension of a life so close to empty, almost nothing at all
And could I make a difference if I simple said "hello", maybe put a sparkle in the eye of a face that's so hollow (x2)
...but it's too late...the paintings they have faded, almost non-existant, as the people walk the pavement where he used to kneel.
Now there's no man on the sidewalk near a clock in a window, where the hands that once tuened so slowly, they don't turn at all.

A deeply moving album performed with a beautiful empowerment. The voice of a thousand angels. Deep understanding of emotion in traditional folk songs. Some modern pop/folk grooves too! Amazing album. Simone Keane
